Itinerary

Ancient Olympia - 10:30 AM

The archaeological site of Ancient Olympia lies in the western Peloponnese, in the beautiful valley of the Alpheios river. It is the most celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece. In the 10th century B.C., Olympia became a center for the worship of Zeus, the father of the 12 Gods of Olympus. It lies at the base of the Kronos Hill, in a lush green area where the Alpheios and the Kladeos rivers meet.

Olympia became the most important religious and athletic center in Ancient Greece. Its fame rests upon the Olympic Games, that were held every four years in the honor of Zeus for over 1100 years from 776 BC to 393 AD. They became known worldwide at the time and were the greatest national festival and highly prestigious.

The site of Olympia includes the sanctuary of Zeus and various buildings erected around it, such as athletic premises used for the preparation and celebration of the Olympic Games, administrative buildings as well as other temples, buildings and monuments. The stadium of Olympia, where the ancient Olympic Games were held, and the massive temple of Zeus, the largest temple in the Peloponnese, are the site’s most significant attractions.

Discover priceless artifacts at the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, including sculptures and relics that bring the past to life.

Traditional Greek lunch at Olympia - 1:00 PM

Savor a delightful meal at a traditional Greek taverna, where you’ll enjoy authentic flavors made with fresh, local ingredients.

From classic souvlaki to mouthwatering moussaka, this lunch will give you a true taste of Greece’s rich culinary heritage.

Wine Tasting at Olympia Land Estate – 2:30 PM

Immerse yourself in the world of Greek winemaking at Olympia Land Estate, a family-run vineyard producing exceptional wines from indigenous grape varieties. Taste the crisp and aromatic Malagouzia, the refreshing Assyrtiko, the bold and velvety Agiorgitiko, and the rare Avgoustiatis, a hidden gem of the Greek terroir.

Stroll through the sun-kissed vineyards, learn about the estate’s winemaking traditions, and enjoy a guided tasting that will introduce you to the unique character of these exquisite wines.

Free day in Kalo Nero - 5:00 PM

Unwind on the stunning shores of Kalo Nero, a Blue Flag-awarded beach with golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Whether you prefer lounging under the sun, enjoying fresh seafood at a seaside taverna, or catching waves as a surfing enthusiast, this idyllic coastal escape has something for everyone.

Kalo Nero is also a significant nesting area for the endangered Caretta-Caretta sea turtles. As you explore the beach, you may come across protected nests—reminders of the region’s rich biodiversity and natural beauty.
